About Michael Bullis

     My Story starts out on Long Island NY where I grew up. Soon after high school I joined the ranks of the New York City Police Department. This was a childhood dream of mine, and I couldn't’t have been more proud putting on the blue uniform of the NYPD. While with the department I spent time as part of a plain clothes narcotics team, and then later an illegal firearms apprehension unit. After leaving the NYPD, I started working for the US Government under contract for agencies such as the FBI and the US Department of State to name a few. This work revolved around national security and intelligence investigations. The work was interesting, with me even getting a chance to serve a month long tour of duty in Moscow Russia. While I love the challenges that investigative law enforcement work brings, my real interest has always revolved around Real Estate.

     Besides being a Realtor, I currently own and operate my own Real Estate Investment Company that focuses on purchasing distressed properties in and around Wake County, and doing renovations to my clients private homes. My business has the added benefit of keeping me very grounded regarding local market trends, and allows me to stay one step ahead of my competitors. My knowledge as an investor gets translated directly to my real estate clients regarding their own needs. I also have been able to use my law enforcement background to directly assist me with my Real Estate career. By utilizing my investigative skills taught to me by some of the best law enforcement agencies in the nation, I know how to access public records that concern detailed property ownership history; this includes any forclosure proceedings that may have taken place in the past. I then transfer this information directly to my clients which gives them a huge leg up during negotiations. Other attributes I bring from my law enforcement career include not being easily rattled during those same negotiations. I have been in pressure situations my entire life, and know how to calmly see through bluffs and deception often used during the negotiation process. The bottom line is my clients can be assured of their interests being protected at all times, with me working hard to fulfill their goals.

     Most of my off time is spent with my family. I live right here in Holly Springs along with my lovely wife Kerri, and three beautiful daughters Shannon, Megan, and Colleen. Kerri is a Registered Nurse who has spent time working with cancer patients on a busy oncology unit. Thankfully for me and the kids she is now gainfully employed by our family as a full time mom. My girls are heavily involved in the many area activities such as cheer-leading, swim team, gymnastics, and drama class to name a few.

     When I get some time to myself, I do a lot of reading. I am very interested in the fields of personal development, spirituality,  and business. I have personally read over a hundred books on these subjects. On a lighter note, I am an avid hockey fan, with football and baseball a close second. I also am a self proclaimed grill master; although my wife might have something to say about that.
